Introduction For Administrators
Inmark’s Private Online Portals (POPs) are designed to transform how organizations manage packaging and shipping. By aligning your organization’s goals with our packaging solutions, POPs provides a streamlined service that, when properly managed, gives you unmatched visibility and control over your business processes.
No longer do you need to create costly, custom procedures to ensure shipments meet your business objectives. Through vertical integration, Inmark delivers a level of service that was previously out of reach.
Our tutorials will guide you through the essentials, helping you harness the full potential of Inmark POPs and simplify your shipping operations.
Organization
Our service is built around our customers, which means understanding your organization is essential. To achieve this, we start by gathering some basic details that help us map your organizational structure.
If your use of the service applies only to a specific subset of your organization, the information you provide at this stage can—and should—reflect that scope.
Business Units
After collecting your organization’s basic information, the next—and most critical—step in setting up POPs is defining your business units. This structure determines how users interact with the system and how your data is organized.
When creating business units, keep these two key considerations in mind:
- Security: Users invited to order packaging and ship through POPs will be assigned to the business units you define. Consider any access controls or segregation requirements your organization needs.
- Reporting: Business units are the primary filter for reporting within your account. Think about your reporting needs when deciding how to structure these units.
If you have questions or need assistance during this step, our team is always ready to help.
Return Item Collections and Items
Before exploring Payload Collections, it’s important to understand what Payloads are. Simply put, a Payload is the item you intend to ship—the contents you place inside Inmark’s shipping solution (packaging).
A Payload Collection is a grouping of multiple payloads. Collections are valuable for:
- Reporting: Analyze data within a single collection or comparing multiple collections.
- Organization: Making it easier for both administrators and users to locate specific payloads.
For the best results, ensure that each payload entered in POPs accurately reflects the real-world item, down to its most unique details. This approach improves searchability, makes the system more intuitive, and enhances reporting capabilities for administrators.
At Inmark, we believe you can’t improve what you don’t measure—POPs is designed to be your ultimate measurement tool.
User Management
Effective user management—including controlling who has access to what—is a core feature of POPs. When designing POPs, we prioritized key principles such as reporting, accountability, security, and autonomy.
Whether your organization requires access for two users or two thousand, POPs provides the flexibility to scale while saving your organization money and reducing the time spent by both administrators and end users.
Shipping Configurations and Accounts
While shipping configurations and carrier account setup can be complex, POPs is designed so you don’t need to worry about these details when getting started. Inmark provides default shipping configurations and carrier support for all supported regions, allowing you to begin shipping immediately—without additional setup or planning.
This means you can start using POPs confidently, knowing that shipping within Inmark’s supported geographies is fully managed for you.
Digital Documents
POPs supports custom workflows through its Digital Documents functionality, making it easy to manage internal documentation, customer-facing materials, and more. All digital documents in POPs fall into one of two classifications:
- Product Type Documents: These are included in applicable orders and form part of the fulfillment process.
- Reference Type Documents: These are always available for download in POPs and can be accessed both before and after an order is placed.
This simple classification system ensures your documents are organized and accessible when you need them.
